Course Description: This course provides an evidence-based introduction to trauma-informed interviewing. Participants will examine how trauma may influence attention, memory, communication, and information retrieval while learning practical interviewing strategies that promote psychological safety, trust, and effective information gathering. Grounded in contemporary research on trauma, memory, and investigative interviewing, this course equips professionals with practical tools to improve interview quality while reducing the risk of retraumatization. This course is designed for investigators, law enforcement officers, attorneys, human resource professionals, workplace investigators, compliance personnel, and others who conduct interviews involving individuals who may have experienced traumatic events.
